June began with a wonderful week off and travel to the Smoky Mountains to hike and relax with Ray and BJ. The trip was in honor of Ray's 70th birthday (amazing to even consider) and their 40th wedding anniversary (also a fantastic milestone.) The big hike was up, and I do mean up Mt. Le Conte and back in one day--10 miles round trip. What a beautiful hike, but I found I was way out of practice hiking seriously, even with a small pack.
